Now that we are discovering the massive errors in Coronavirus death projections by the academic and government communities, we have reason to believe that we’re all being scammed by the managers of the crisis.
Some say “prudence is the better part of valor” in dealing with a crisis, and generally that’s true, except when valor shuts down the world’s greatest economy on what is looking to be a lot of manipulation.
Here, reasonable people will ask a reasonable question: Is the Coronavirus scare similar to or little more than the normal toll that flu takes on our society?
And the logical follow up question: Or is this just another way to get Trump?
If we compare the vastly different responses of the “powers that be” to the Swine Flu outbreak under Obama in 2009, as well as the relative infection and death rates…
…well, one just has to wonder, doesn’t one?
The Spirit of Fear
I’ve maintained consistently that what we are really dealing with in modern America is more of a spiritual crisis than anything else. The political and cultural fallout comes in the wake of a deeper clash of spirits: good vs. evil, truth vs. deceit; life vs. death.
This clash of spirits is on high display every day in the headlines.
So, what’s the real reason for the over-projections? Fear.
Remember that fear has a spiritual dimension. It is a tool for evil spirits to motivate action and manipulate human behaviors and attitudes. Ultimately it is the opposite of the spirit of trusting faith in a provident God.
We know that fear is not “of God” because as St. Paul says, “God has not given us the spirit of fear” (2 Timothy 1:7). St. John observes that authentic Christian love is the antidote to fear and that “perfect love drives out all fear” (1 John 4:18).
Needless to say, the constant fearmongering by the media, as well as the dire and usually inaccurate predictions of “experts” in public life, means that Americans are subjected to a continuous overdose of the spirit of fear – daily.
Prayer Overcomes Fear
The need for prayer to save our country from this pandemic – and from all the evils that afflict it – is greater than ever.
We need to get on our knees, especially in this week when the President and his advisors will be taking steps to overcome the fearmongering minions and boldly open the country up once again to our vital national and personal interests.
You may have noticed that the ones who are advocating the months-long shutdown of the US economy generally don’t have to worry about their next paycheck.
Academicians and government types are usually the ones who live farthest away from the daily realities of most Americans.
We can’t let them wreck everything in our society by their apocalyptic fearmongering.
It’s time to pray and then to get up off our knees and boldly overcome the spirit of fear!
The very least we can do is to pray One Our Father a day for our President and this nation. Only God can turn things around, but God always depends on our cooperation!
The One Our Father prayer campaign is a non-profit effort to get more people on their knees. We thrive when people pray and sign up for our newsletter. We’ll send you twenty free prayer cards of the Lord’s Prayer to hand out as reminders to others that prayer is our number one priority now.
